Okay, so the new Freehad MX is released, just curious who uses Freehand and who uses AI (I know this has been asked before, but read below).
'cos I've heard that US, Australia, UK and Japan mainly uses AI, and European countries (eg. Germany) predominately uses Freehand...
and so tell me if my views are correct/incorrect and any reasons behind it are welcome

maybe it was cheaper than illustrator back in the days?

what I meant was have you (or anyone) wondered why some countries "mostly" uses one prog over the other... seems like Coke and Pepsi to me...

hmm. i guess its a mixture between price, marketing and support. and neighbours : )

i find illustrator alot nicer, abit more of a learning curve, then i
started using freehand , and since its basically free, comes with studio mx, i am getting quite used to it for doing web work, pen tool is abit tougher to get used to. basically the same program , but think illustrator is a bit more advanced, specially if..well,..your doing illustrator.
um ya thats what i think.

We currently use AI, but used to use Freehand. Why? Mainly because AI is bundled with Photoshop, which had to be bought anyway. I'm not sure which way to go in the future. CorelDraw or Gimp? ;)
