I have been using illustrator for 8 years or so...but I started to use freehand for some stuff.
What do you like better?

Illustrator is wonderful at previewing the artwork w/out taxing the processor like FH does. Its opacity masks and effects are better too.
Freehand is great at editing vector files (use the join command and it actually jons). It also has great selection and replacement tools. Most of all there are text styles.
