What do your illustrator/freehand/photoshop/w... layer structures look like?
Do you do all of your seperations before you go to flash or do you just do each asset at a time?
Here is what my layers are looking like right now.
Does this make sense? Just seems like endless layers for something that will look very simple.
Now go screenshot your layers!!!

cripes, that's a shit-ton of layers.
what the heck is this for? maybe a glimpse of what the final thing will look like may determine how many and how organized your layers should be.
as a note, that's some damn good layer organization, good habit. sucks ass to work with another file that you got from somebody previous and have everything unnamed.

I have all of the layers in folders, so that makes it a bit better. I am used to working with another programmer so I don't like to get them pissed. Works out now that I am on my own.
It is good to be organized but a drag to actually do it.
I know someone out there is also working with layers. Post some pics so I do not feel alone!!!!!!

shite thats a lot of layers! - but it seems to make sense even though I have no clue what you're doing, I'd say it was well organised.
Last week I took over a job someone had done visuals for and I had to make a load of changes before artwork(printjob) - I only wish he'd bothered to organise it as you have done - I spent a morning sorting out layer folders, time that could have been better spent.

Hmm, my photoshop layouts regularly have this many layers, interesting that some of you think this is a lot.

The layers in this file are from illustrator. I have since added about 25 more. I don't think it is a lot of layers considering it is the entire flash section. But regardless. I just wanted to see some screen shots of others layer structures.

i usually have all the asset organization more in Flash, rather than an external PSD file. just makes organizing assets in the Flash file double the work.
whatever floats your boat, i love organization, however, sometimes you don't have that luxury when the shit hits the fan, and your deadline is just around the bend.

I think it is our job to make time for these things. You can actually import illustrator files or export flash files that will already have this layer structure. So it isn't double work. I would just rather manage files in illustrator where they are going to be edited later then in flash....
WORD UP!
