- obey_yoda0
im flying there alone. my neighbors, who just moved there (hes teaching english, she's a native) will be hooking me up with a floor, pillow, blanket, and tours. im pretty stoked.
its one of those things you cant believe is going to happen, but slowly and surely it is happening.
i basically told them i want to see high tech and low tech and maybe do some indoor snowboarding...this is becoming more complex though, because the above suggestions are damn exciting.

Tokyo is the best. You will LOVE it. (that Sony building isnt all that though, I was disappointed). Anything you do or anywhere you go will be thrilling. Don't sweat whats supposed to be cool or great. The whole event will be its own reward.
- MrDinky0

i recommend just walking in a direction until you get lost. just explore.
the yamanote line is super easy to use and amazingly efficient.
I went totally solo & did not have any problems.

i'll be going for the fifth time in march. i'm planning on studying japanese there for 6 months possibly next year.
superfuture has pretty much most of the good shops and gallerys mapped. i'd recomend checking out Daikanyama, its a totally different vibe to much of tokyo, and some cool shops too. Also, my personal favourite is 'Freshness Burger' Relax magazine just did a huge feature on them. You'll find one wherever you are!
Japan has to be one of my favourite places

i def. agree with modulate.. take a day or two.. and just get lost in the city.. there is soo much to do there. a week will never be enough. walking around experiecing the culture is the best. the first time i went was great becasue my ex girlfriend was living there (she is japanese) and i got a serious tour of the city.. damn i m jealous.. i need to go back.

thanks for the pics modulate theyre sweet.
the friend im visiting actually said i should have a day to myself and just go in a straight line from their apartment and let they journey unfold. i like that idea.
its going to be soooo expensive but its kind of an investment.
it doesnt seem like you see many designers from tokyo here. i had hoped this post would draw them out...
