Anyone have any suggestions for good places to go in Berlin? Modern art or great beer or peglegged circus midgets - music stores, book stores and above all - NO CLUBS - i hate that crap

just go trek around in old east berlin... its awesome... there is an excellent little bar on:
Oranienburgerstrasse where all the hookers hang out that has some sweet egon schiele style paintings - tons of neat shops and galleries in that area. youll love it.. berlin rocks. post photos of postdamplatz when youg get back

i second east berlin...make sure to visit the russian war memorial in the east...very cool, much nicer than the one on the west.
if you are into architecture you're gonna be in heaven!
be sure to check out the museum in the reichstag as well. last time i was there (about 5 years ago) there was alot of scaffolding around the old buildings...doing some much needed restoration so some of the buildings weren't totally visible.
have fun and say hi to my tante ingrid while you're there!

If you don't mind me asking...
What kind of rate did you get for your tickets? Hotels? Or what have you seen?
Seems to me like an expensive place to go. But a very cool one.

I'm going to Berlin from UK with uni group on 16th Feb for 5 days.
One place which seems a must to visit is the Jewish Museum designed by Daniel Libeskind. The photos of the place look awsome.
I'm fine art so our tutors will be taking us around art galleries and museums. I want to see lots of the German Expressionists and wood cuts.
