portals

  well, i've been searching the net for a while now for a portal that would have a decent design. i mean, design portals (like this one here) usually have it but they wouldn't be taken seriously if they hadn't.

  but huge ones (or even smaller ones) like cnn, msnbc, dotmusic usually forfeit design for usability, compatibility and what-not-ibility (read: they try to be compatible with as many five-year-old browsers as possible).

  so, i was wondering if you knew any portals (you know, news and polls and comments and quizzes and archives and stuff) that really do look sleek and slick and whatnot and still manage to hold their position as a portal.

  anyone?
