since my rock star career didn't break through, I'm all for the looks of stuff since I'm a designer. So go with the 2nd one. It's prettier. After all, being a rock star is all about the looks, isn't it?

don;t go combo man - just don't. If you can't afford a new head get a second hand one...seriously though - don;t waste the money on a combo when a nice new JCM 900 or even better a Peavey 5150 is withing your reach!

i agree with jevad, you should go for a stack. marshall jcm 900 with matching cab would be excellent. unless you can afford a mesa boogie (very sweet amps)

if you absolutely can't get a stack, honestly out of the two nothing beats a marshall 12" imho :)

marshall has a shitty service... what about hughes&kettner? i rocj good with that : )

I've been playing for about 10 years and I've used alot of equipment.
1) Mesa Boogie
2) Marshall

marshall has a better resale value later on. Get a cabinet and a head. That also has a better resale. With a combo, you risk having the speakers shake components in the head apart. It's also much easier to carry both parts seperately. Avoid Peavey unless you plan on giving it away when you want a new rig.

go with the mosh-all

i have a crate combo... would be great if it didn't switch between clean and distortion chanels all the time...
i guess i'm going to have to vote marshall stack like everyone else.
