Anyone know how to avoid this one.......
I have been given a file in Illustrator (version10) containing only one word "Laser" which has been converted to paths.
When I AppleC / AppleV it into Freehand the result is nasty....the contour of the "S" especially is buggered.....
Help appreciated....

try dragging it into freehand... or export it as a editable eps!??

Or, how about "Object -> expand" , then copy past?

Cheers Phubar!
Only the eps way works....
Maybe something to do with FH not being too hot at opening PDFs??
Illustrator is all PDF now, no?

You should be able to open up pdfs in illustartor, Ive done it before in the past. It can get annoying if you save it and you don't want it as a pdf, if this happen just make sure you turn the option off!

I got the solution if you're interested......
in Illustrator in the files and Clipboard settings
copy as AICB and preserve Paths......simple when you know how, eh?

i have freezing problems when i try to open pdfs in ill 10 on a mac g4 running os 9. really frustrating! however, it seems to work fine in ill 9..is ill 10 more comfortable in os x or something? anyone else have this experience?

I find ill10 more suited to osx... seems to work better.

I have had experience with both scenerios.
First, In freehand, When you convert your text to paths, even within freehand, the preview, is fackin horrible. I assure you though, It will print fine.
As for the PDF issue, I work with Illy 10 on PC and illy 9 in mac os9, and You will always have some issues importing PDF's into them. I guess it all depends on how the PDF was created, for its acceptability into Illy.
Hope this helps.
