Just returned from Brazil recently. It is actually my second time there. Both times (once in Bahia, and second time in Rio) I visited a favela. Not intentionally, of course. I wouldn't recommend going there to anyone.
The movie is great.. Exageratted at some points though

I recommend the movie. like a mix of Goodfellas crossed with Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels crossed with Pulp Fiction crossed with Boys in the Hood taking place in a Rio favela

I thought it was pretty good. Nice use of dark humour (Do you want me to shoot you in the hand or the foot? Bang! Now fu©k off, and no limping!). Shame I had to rely on the subtitles though.

Unclickable. Im going for 1 month in 3 weeks time. Any advice on what to see or do? Any photos? I could use some advise. Ill be staying near Sao Paulo but will visit Rio at some point for a while too. See my site for more info. Thanks mate.

the film has nice color and cute script. But the killing was useless after 1 whole hour of the blood...

I stayed in Sao for few days only. Some places that I would recommend are the new hotel Unique. amazing architecture.. nice lounge .. also Club lov.e ...
Advices.. well.. if you don't speak any portugese bring a dictionary.. bring condoms..
it's very cheap if you come spend dollars or pounds.. you will have a blast there
