Hi ,
i posted an early version of this yesterday.
anyways , i think its pretty done now .
I need some opinion on this :
that is when the mouse is not on the navigation menu and
is when the mouse is over it ...
when u move ure mouse over the left side of the interface the menu slides out and u can click whichever section u want , then the image behind will do a slight transition .
anyways , id like to know what you think ? i started this project 3 day ago and after 6 scrap interface i think this one is soo soo ... maybe i should work more on it or start a completely new one .
i dont know what is my problem i have never had this much difficulty coming up with a design ... usualy i just open photoshop and it comes naturaly , im really scared and frustrated about how much time i had to start over , but i want to give out a nice little web site , soo ill start over 100x time if i have to...
So what do you think , when you see this , visualy is it nice ?

dood, I like it much. Especially the background. It is quite unique. Good job.
Too bad I dont know french so I dont know what the site is really about. Maybe tell me a little of what is about and I might be able to give my opinion on whether it fits or not.

I like this one. I have seen some bad designs lately, but this one is refreshing. easy and clean. The main body text is not my first choice, but it works.
Do you have anything working or is it just these 2 comps so far?
Will the left image change with the menu choices?

No i dont have the site running yet , these are only screenshot i have to show the client then he tells me if he likes or not , then i can start working... its a ~3000$ canadian contract .
Basicaly its for a small decoration company , they do paint job in offices , or they put up small stands with wine on them , or floral arrangement , ya know these kind of things ... kind of like interior designers , but they dont only work in the interior hehe ...
and yes the image to the left will change , i dont know yet if i should make only the tint color change , or change the image completely , its a flower close up with a few layers of photoshop "enhancing" :)

i think it looks good. i like the image a lot - where did you get it?
if you want my opinion as in 'what would you do to this?' here it is:
i don't think it loses anything if you size it down so that it fits 800x600. i'd keep the background, maybe the img doesn't show that. and i'd keep the menu visible at all times, just faded to almost transparent when the mouse isn't over it.
how are you going to deal with long pages?

Yes i already though about reducing the size a little bit so that even if you are in 800x600 , you could see at least a little bit of pattern , since this pops in a window with an exact fixed size , ppl in 1600 would see the pattern repeat itself a zillion times thankfully.
About the menu , i think making it slide out would be nicer , i would use some nice smooth effect , just duplicate same thing on different layer and make them move to the same point but at different speed ... if u go at http://www.louno.com my navigation uses only one layer , but in the project box [3] the image uses 2 , i would use some kind of similar effect , but with maybe 3-4 layer and they would be in lower opacity , when they would all be on top of each other their opacity adds up so u can have the image seen on the screenshot i published here ( testover ) ,
its really simple if i could explain it in word , but i just read myself and i SUCK at explaining things in english :P
