you get what you pay for and they all probably suck for less than that - go Canon

my nikon coolpix 885 works quite nicely. (+ you can fit on wideangle/fisheye convertors)

its worth paying a little bit extra and getting something good. remember, once you're spending a few hundred pounds or whatever on a digital camera, its worth digging that little deeper into your pocket.
i recently bought a canon ixus v3 £350 and i'm incredibly pleased with it. i think its the best one out there in that price range.
