Anyone know why my fonts never show up consistenly on my Mac programs? I never have this problem with my PC at work.
Should I get Suitcase or something?

Mas OS 9.1 and earlier, the fonts folder can only read 128 maximum fonts.
Suitcase sux, I would use atm or upgrade to 9.2 or X. These operating systems have no limit.

Can you be a little more specific than "never show up consistently"?

Yeah, Im using 9.2. Thats good info though. By showing up consistently I mean that when you go to use type in various programs some may have a certain font available to use and others dont.

use ATM deluxe or suitcase.
itll work fine.

Some apps, tend to break the fonts out of their family group.
For instance Quark will seperate "Helvetica Bold", and "Helvetica Bold Italic" to show as "BI Helvetica Bold Italic" and "B Helvetica Bold".
The applications will also list the fonts in alphabetical order, so they may be available but you may have to search for them.
Suitcase and ATM Deluxe will not fix this issue.

i'd still get Suitcase, I haven't had any problems with it. just make a folder on your hard drive, seperate from your system fonts, then bring them in to suitcase or split them up into other folders. easy to turn some off and on when you want.

@wo: you need the plugin "typereunion"

Got typereunion, only works well with certain apps.
That is an old school plug-in, system 7 native.
