How much do you guys charge for a logo and /or complete identity system?
- funnyjun0
it depands on company size and what they do.
such as small company , we get at least $1000. Corporation Identity (C.I. )
but rarely we did for it for free .this case we think we invest .

Sounds really cheap to me, but then again, that's not really what I do : )

$1000. Is that average for just a logo or for a complete printed system (stationary, envelopes, business cards, style guide lines etc.)

$1000 is a good price to charge but be ready to explain why. most clients just think it's a matter of 'our name is xyz.com, can't you just make something up real quick?'
they haven't a clue the process or time involved. plus, after it's finished you have to save it in a shitload of formats and resolutions for them. be ready.

as someone mentioned the other day, a decent way of doing this if you're totally unsure is to charge hourly.
figure out what you want your annual wage to be, then divide that by 48, then by 40. double it for thinking time and you've got your figure.
on a related note, does anyone have any good online resources on logo design? i used to use a few sites every time i had to do it, but lost them when my old machine dies.
one which gave a grid to fill in to aid through the process was particularly good - anyone know what i'm talking about?

Good point Kona. Im also kind of worried it could take for ever if they say they dont like the 3 or so options I give them. Anyone know how much full identity systems usually go for?

"complete identity system?"
that is sooo dependent on the size of the project. It might even involve a typeface. I know of projects that involved hundred thousand(s) of US$'s......

125 per hour is about right, don't charge less than 1000, maybe like 1,500 USD. you can start from there... remember what your selling them and what they will be using it for, whether they are a global company or a mom and pop shop, sell in global rights, unlimited use, etc... basically, you want to charge for your work and what you are worth, and if you happen to charge more people tend to listen to you more... it's a bit crazy but it works...
good luck...

1000 USD for an entire ID system?
sounds irresponsible.
