Hi,
I've been making e-flyers (for music events) for about a year now, which are steadily getting better as I learn from my mistakes.
Is anyone else out there making them? A lot of promoters haven't really embraced the idea yet, with many just putting a jpeg of their print flyer onto their website.
I was thinking about maybe gathering together a little collection of the best e-flyers from around the globe in order to promote the format (I'm not sure if format is the best term but you know what I mean). What do you all think?

Just dropped by to say that the amore flyer was neat-o! Love the font. Is jugend coming back in style?

Thanks mate, I think jugendstil is very reminiscent of the kind of vector graphics people are working with today.

Maybe it's a job for the k10k matchmaker...

Jevad:
Which section are they in? - I'm being a duffer and can't find them!

Do you ever have problems getting it returned? I've sent out a few for myself to other architects, but somehow I got on a SPEWS list and it blocks my IP address. It sucks. They will not respond to any emails I send to them (the SPEWS people) to get my address off the f***in' list! I really hate that. I assume that it blocked all emails that contained html.
Ever experience this?

They don't go out as HTML. The promoters send out a plain text email with a link in. Less intrusive that way. They also live on the front of the site - http://www.sanchopanza.org - apologies for the layo and bushwacka one which was done in a hurry and is a bit shite!

Jevad:
Ah - you're thinking HTML email, but I'm thinking cyber equivalent of paper club / gig flyer....

thank you mrming.

How would I sell this idea to our clients?
Would I explain them as interactive announcements for there upcoming events? Just that they are online?
Or is it much more?
thanks,

same thing really...e-flyer can be an html email - or no?
please explain!

The promoters I'm working with have basically changed the marketing of their events from offline to online.
They used to keep a mailing list of postal addresses, have print flyers and a short newsletter
made and send it out once every so often. Now they communicate the stuff that was in the newsletter via their site, and run an email list instead of a postal one. When there is an event coming up subscribers are sent a short text email with a link to the e-flyer. The e-flyer is also available on the front of the site in the time coming up to the event.

I guess it is the same thing really. I need to be more specific! What I'm looking for is people who are making interactive promotional pieces (prob in flash / shockwave) for entertainment events (gigs/club nights/exhibitions etc)....

ahh - gotcha....yeah I do a lot of that too...
