dumbass router ???

  I want to buy a router so I can hook 2 macs up to adsl at home, obviously I'd like to pay as little as possible but get a decent product. 1 macs os9 and the other osx but aren't routers software independent? Anybody used a nokia IP55? or one of those curvy netgear numbers.

  any advice for a dumbass please?!
