I am kind of starting over in the creative field and moving from design to art direction. There is a considerable difference I have learned between the two. That's for another thread. Anyways.
I am building (from scratch) a student book of ad work. Could anyone suggest a brand or company that would lend itself good creative. And if it has a challenging aspect to it, all the better.
Here are my only stipulations. I am not seeking major brands that have been done a million times. The Nikes, Cokes, Apples, etc.
Looking for mid-level brands that have a decently recognizable name but haven't been killed by campaign after campaign.
Good examples what I am talking about are: Pearl Drums, Camper Shoes, A local brewed beer, Duck Tape and the likes of.
Any of these type of brands that anyone could suggest would be super helpful.
thanks,

Why not invent your own brand?
or...
Take an existing big brand and rebrand it/campaign it in a totally different direction from what's currently being done with it.

thanks blue. but I think I am going for real world brands. gives the ads you do for them that much more reality. even though they are fake ads. a fake clientele on top on that might spell doom.
thanks. anyone else?
