I know this is not really design realted and I appologize upfront, however there are some knowledgable guys and gals here. So with that said, is there a way to get video from a tivo to a powerbook (the powerbook has a s video out) any ideas?

you could use a camera to firewire the feed from a tv output.
thats how I do it with my vcr.

well i know that tivo has a record to vcr option... but if I hook the tivo up to the powerbook through s video out that im sure wouldnt work right? Because it would have to be an s video in?
I dont know

prolly wouldn't help much, anyway. apparently the format video is saved in on a tivo is unknown, so you couldn't just rip it out.
you need a video-in port.

thats what I thought...
hmm
Ill have to do more research

you'll need something to send the composite or s-video output of the tivo into the powerbook's firewire port.
this link is for an ibook, but it might apply:

Wait a year or two and all macs and pcs will have built in pvr functionality. Just get a digital receiver card + some software and you will not need tivo no more.
