hypothetically, lets say youre putting together some sort of online presentation... hypothetically... you download some cool music off some dudes website and you want to use, oh, 60 seconds or so of it (purely a hypothetical amount of time) in said hypothetical presentation... do you need the artists presentation if you give them credit?
this is all hypothetical ofcourse... and... im asking for a friend.
actually, i wouldnt use it without getting permission (neither would my friend) but i was wondering what the legal take on this situation would be.

it be copyright infringement without the permission of the artist.
Best rule of thumb - always ask the artist first because pretty much everything is covered by copyright - the record labels made sure of that long ago
