Jeremy, Will and Nate have started a new band . . .
They are playing their first show tonight at Graceland in Seattle.
I am going.
I am super stoked.I will return bearing a review and a grin.

not exactly "new" but still cool.
liked sunny day pretty well, but Deathcab for Cutie is the best shit out there in that genre... hell, it may be some of the best shit out there PERIOD!!!

Ben Gibbard is one of the best lyrecists i've ever heard. i rank him equal with paul simon and the music is just fucking... brilliant.
but like i say, to each his own. i got nothin against sunny day. =)

I don't think Sunny Day was ever a christian band. Actually from what I remember the singer becoming a born again christian is what broke them up the first time. At least that's what I've heard..

yea. that is why they broke up the first time. the singer kept askin people to pray in the middle of a concert and the guitartist got pissed off and would play in while they were prayin. haha
i know, i never thought id listen to a christian band either... i about as nasty and militantly athiest as you can get, but they do rock.
i can listen to Rain Song on repeat forever. beautiful song. and pedro's A Mind of Her Own is incredible. they (pedro) started out on a christian label but got kicked cuz they were too... well, listen to that song and you will understand.

Right. And, as far as I know, he still is. His lyrics are often very spritual. I mean, I don't think they're going to tour with Stryper or anything, but by todays 'indie-rock', 'emo-rock' standards, they're far more Christian than most other bands.
