seeing as we are on teh subject - I have been looking all day and every site I found was absolute SHITE! these people take so long crafting these rings and then let some special needs halfwit do their site...crazy..
has anyone seen any GOOD jewellers websites with some nice plain simple platinum bands?

Don't get platinum, it's looks like hell once it's scratched. White Gold is less expensive, easier to repair and more versatile for the jeweler to work with. My adive is to also design your own wedding bands.

no... white gold acctually doesnt have better durability...
platinum is tougher.. longer lasting .....BUT platinum looses is luster faster and you cant shine it back up soyou have to have it replated with something all the time.....
white gold is hard enough and shines up TONES better.... cheaper, and also if you get a platinum ring... and you cant get it off..... its a BITCH to get off.. they ahve to bring in the jaws of life.....

white gold does not have better durability!
I designed an engagement ring for my fiancee and because of the tight delivery time the jeweller could only do it in white gold - which I didn't want. Now it is scratched to fuck and you can see the gold starting to come through.
NEVER get white gold - it is a cheap option.

a great alternative to platinum bands that loose their luster is titanium. my good friend who has broken two different paltinum bands (very outdoorsy person) decided to go with titanium and i can barely tell the difference. looks good, but i didn't ask where he got it.
white gold is so........ i just don't like gold. even if it's white.

The site, and the work on it is super old, but for custom rings this guy is amazing. He did some for me and they were cheap and my girlfriend is asked where she got it all the time. You can even send him a picture of her or art she likes, etc. And he designs a ring that is her. Just my two cents.
