We just gave celsiusDesign ( http://www.celsiusdesign.com ) a bit of a makeover, and was wondering if you guys could just go through and let us know if you spot anything not working, ugly, annoying, confusing or any combination of these. Thanks for any comments you leave, we appreciate it.

Wow! RIT Grads! I am there right now for New Media Design. It's is good to see work of such high caliber from RIT students, kids in my classes right now tend to suck. Keep up the great work. Looks great. Are their any employment opps with you? Be offered a few jobs for next year (taking a year off) but would love to do some work with alums.

Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately we don't have any positions open right now, but with the change of season we hope to close alot of deals and have a newfound requirement for more talent. We'll be sure to inform the community when the time comes.

Cool. Once again, real nice work. Love the site and your work. Just good clean design, the way it should be. Keep it up. If you ever come back here to visit, I would love to buy you dinner or something. Take Care.

Looks great.
Nice portfolio works, it may be just me, but the 'menu' and 'feature' text seem a bit blurry.

Yo kids.
New site looks nice.
Looks like you've tons of work pilin' up.
Nice to see someone bein busy.Colleges, especially RIT, seem to be full of people who don't know their ass from their mouse. RIT and other schools are relying less and less on requirements, portfolio, grades, leadership to get in and looking more and more at people's wallets - and likely hood to finish out their 4 years.
They havet o face board members and performance charts nowadays just like publicly held corporations.
Ok, rant off.
Is it only you two?
and you're working 3,000mi+ away? How does that work?
or do you have full-time/freelance designers in the shop also?-Drew

Drew - Thats so true. Design isn't really something they can teach, lots of the kids who apply think they are the shit too, becuase they were the only kids in the town that knew how to open photoshop. Do you guys have AOL screen names? it be cool to chat, about RIT. My screen name is "aaronclinger".

I think you can learn a lot about design. I've learned a TON since high school.
Not just programs, but theory, methods, etc etc
The main problems I saw were lack of talent - which can often be overcome by someone who works hard and loves what they do . . .
The biggest thing by far was lack of interest. People just didn't work at anything. After class and homework - design was not any more a part of their lives than any other person.
I'm not saying that people should eat, drink, sleep design - they shouldnt. But if you really were into it - you might want to learn stuff outside of the class - or at least participate.
half the kids were there because they 'liked art stuff' and because someone told them they could make a lot of money 'doing design'There's one teacher there that called us out on that one day. It was awesome.
Heintz Klinkon.
Thick-accented German guy from the old school. We came in one day with crap, i mean ALL of us had crap. He looked at it. Sat down.
Then told us we were all lazy bastards and that we shouldn't listen to people who tell us we can make lots of money as graphic designers.
He told us to take our stuff down and go home.
It was awesome. It was the first day I ever believed any of the teachers really cared.

I didn't mean that people can't improve their skills, and their quality of design. But some kids have no idea what looks good, and what good design is. They really can't be helped. That's all.

nice site, but it'll never replace the purity of the old one.

thanks for all the comments. and yes, RIT is definitely a ghost town of design talent ... building 7 is just FILLED with students who will never comprehend the idea of proper aesthetic. i never graduated from there, and i never took a single design class. i was originally a film student, and then switched to new media (a good major in theory, but not at RIT). shane was an industrial designer and photo (the golden major at RIT). hes just a few credits shy of graduating, but we have both been working full time and thats pretty much how we learned everything (software, design principles, business techiniques).
Shane was just recently at RIT to give a speech to the new design recruits .. sometime just before christmas.

Liked the starkness and nav of the old one - this is nice - but I prefer the old one

oh and cinder, yeah its just the two of us, but we have a 'staff' of freelancers that we work with and a good number of design 'associates/friends' that we are always collaborating with on projects. and shane JUST moved to NYC in december, we were both in vegas for almost a year, and before that NY. so now he headed back there cuz we got some deals brewing there and he figured we coudl setup shop where the business is. i'm still working with a major client in vegas who we do the creative direction for.

so, seemingly ... this version is good as a standalone site, but not comparable to the previous version due to its self contained simplicity ? is this the consensus ?

Ultimate Search strikes again.
I guess someone at celciusdesign forgot to redo their dns registry...

waaah i think i've been cookied to death by ultimatesearch
*cold shower

what the what
the error should be fixed now, is it still doing that ?
- js_0
holy shit. the domain couple that sold us the domain has snaked us and resold it to ultimate search. they denied our claim to it, for whatever reason and now we have to hash this shit out. after it expired on dec 20, 2002 they claimed they had to wait 30 days to resell .. even though we were renewing it. and then on jan 20 2003 ultimate search nabbed it before we could .. even though we told the domain company that we wanted the renew. this shit is getting silly and will most likely end up with alot of ink being spilt on legal documents.

Good luck, hope everything goes smoothly.
can you host it somewhere else temporarly? under a dif domain?
