i'm using OSX Mail and it's not really working for me. i'm thinking of switching to Entourage... what are some pros and cons of using it instead?

I tried both - and really like mail's simple interface and attention to detail that Apple puts into its software - but I grew tired of being unable to read PC Outlook mails, even though I could switch them to plain text, additionally I found there were fewer opportunities to tweak it as I wished compared to Entourage.
Entourage is great - it has all the features you expect and consider necessary for managing all your email. I could manage my mailing lists and had no problem readin mail from my PC friends. And even could be invited to Outlook meetings with the calendar.
However, a type/font problem has caused the app to crash everytime I quit it, so I ditched all gui apps and run my own mail server and use PINE.
If mail is seriously upgraded this year, then I will go back to using that - but Entourage is still better in terms of functionality and features.
Hope that helps.

And remember that OSX mail is intergrated with other Iapps like iphoto, address book etc..

entourage without a doubt. mail is good, especially if you want something bare boned. but entourage is easily the best MS product I have used.

I used Entourage for a few years and it is indeed a solid program. What made me switch to Mail was the simplicity of the interface and the excellent integration with ALL other iApps. Entourage is great but I only ever used 10% of the functionality. And it suffers the same problems as all MS software:Bloat. It always tried to finish my sentences and capitalize my words. If you want to link your email to meeting tasks and and have 35 priotity options go with Entourage. If you just want to send and recieve email go with Mail.

thanks for that advice... i think my main complaints about mail are:
1. no matter what i do, i can't get it to save any sent messages
2. i can't see the time of any mesages unless i view all the headers.
i do love the Mail integration, though, and I really don't need all the options of Entourage ....
