going to Rome in 2 days.
Any interesting places to see other than the normal tourist attractions?
If you know of a good cheap hostel or something alike, I would really appreciate any info.
thnx

The best coffee in Rome is at
Sant'Eustachio
(in Piazza Sant'Eustachio)There are a few coffee places in that piazza and this one isn't as glamourous looking as the others but the coffee is to die for. I get my brother to pick some up for me every time he comes to London cos I'm so addicted!
Generally in Rome you won't need to know where to go, just wander around and you will find incredible things on every corner.
The Art Cafe is a nice club in summer as it's all outdoors but in winter I don't know...

When in Rome... do as the Romans do.

thanks alot!
I will check out the coffee. I don't drink coffee myself but my girlfriend will love it.
I'll try and find the Art cafe thing.
Leaving tommorow so I'm not sure I'll get my hands on the book, but it sounds nice.
thanks all

Hi,
I happen to have a guidebook of Rome. If you want, you can borrow it. You're from Holland, right? I'm in the neighbourhood one of these days, I can deliver it if you'd like.

the Art Cafe was good for Italy but don't expect people to get down and club like people do elsewhere! They are too busy looking gorgeous... No one really drinks either.

hmmm I might have to practice some looking gorgeous stuff than...

these things aren't in rome, but they aren't too far. maybe a bus ride or something. anyway, when i was there, these were the most interesting things i saw. besides the biggies in the city which you have to see with 5000 other dorks.
check out villa adriana
villa borghese and fuck, there's one more but i can't rememeber it. anyway, adriana is cool, there is one where the whole villa is on a huge sharp slanted hill that is actually an organ. there is a waterfall that goes down through the whole villa, top to bottom, and as it does, it goes through organ pipes and plays a song it's been playing since the guy lived there, way back. totally amazing.
