Bambaataa, GM Flash, Sugar Hillgang and probably not long after Kool Herc started making loops - I'm an old bastard..I knownot sure why i kind of object to you labeling everyone in this thread as new to hip hop - but like myself you missed the topic of the thread - it's about covers

DL, did you realize that Camp Lo cover is basically just paying homage to Marvin Gaye's - I Want You. It's good but but not very original.

I never noticed that. I just think it's the best hip hop album out there. no one comes close to their style. (that i know of)
cover could have used a bit more work though, in my opinion.
