I'm new to the APPLE CULT, but i was wondering if they have ever mentioned coming out with a PDA. Something like the PocketPC but runs the Apple OS X on it?
Any rumors?

steve has said it would be crazy to enter the PDA market...
but the iPod could pretty much be a trojan horse if they wanted... and it kind of looks like they'll keep adding functionality like that.

Apple actually made the first PDA ever. It wasn't really pocketish, but it was handheld.

well df1, what i meant by that was the ipod is on the way to becoming a pda. it already has some features of a pda.

the newton bombed cus it was ahead of its time, and rediculously priced. weren't they like 900-1000 bucks?

yeah, and you wrote using a stylus which inturn rendered text...
which was full of mistakes.
...pretty much like a PDA.

Still built into osx 10.2 is some Newton code residue. "Ink" has some Newton stuff in it. This is a question that has been asked for years. The only thing that i couild believe for the moment is that Palm might develop a PDA with a gutted X/Palm hybrid on it.
