does any one have or had, a toyota 4runner, i am about to buy one this weekend... its a 96 with 50k on it.... they are good vehicles no?

yeah, they're good... very good resale too, but first check out the vehicle at carfax. 50k is quite low for a 96!

whats about an average life span of one of these trucks...?
would i be able to drive it for 4 to 5 more years?

if you take care of it you shold be able to put about 150K on it.

or more... i used to live in soccermom-ville and some people that i talked to got over 200k+ on them. just get regular checkups and find out if the timing belt will need to be changed at any time... (it's an issue on some vehicles)

thanks for the knowledge....
just one more question.... do you know at all if a manual transmission is better than the auto, you know for resale (they are rare) and mostly for durability
- mitsu0
i'd guess auto would be higher since everyone knows how to drive it.

Auto costs more to buy and much to fix.
Manual Trans is a less complex machine making it easier to work on.

that is also true, but i think it's a given.
