Designing stuff is great.
It's not like real work at all. Anyone who moans ought to go and get a manual labour job like digging holes in roads, unloading bananas off boats or delivering letters for several years getting paid fuck all! (cue violins)
Design won't seem as bad.
Stop moaning.

If you are passionate, and talented in design, money should not come as an issue.
If you don't feel like your getting paid reasonably where you work, then move around. It's not hard to land a spot somewhere if you produce great work and know people who can hook you up.
God, What the hell is wrong with all these people on here who complain about "there's no money in design ..." ?

personally, my best time was while I was working nights unloading wagons for a haulage firm. I did 7.30 to 3.00a.m. , and spent the rest of my time immersed in quality design time.

On good days, I love it so much that every leaf and every piece of random rubble I pass on the way to work looks perfect. It's all one endless seamless poignant story and the street generates a soundtrack with such intricate timing most people think it's noise.
Bad days are chaos.
Today is a good day, and even this shitty grey city looks colourful.
