Can Itunes do this?

  I have an extensive collection of music and was wondering if there was anyway Itunes could make a random playlist short enough to burn on to a CD? if anyone knows how to do this please let me know

  You could wrtite an applescript to do it I think. Not sure where you start, but once its done you put the script file in the iTunes.

  dont need applescript

  just make a smart playlist (file menu), go to the advanced tag, skip the first part and do "limit to 80 minutes chosen at random" with the drop down boxes.
