DDR Ram???

Rambus is generally faster.
One type of ram is not better suited for application X or Y then any other kind of ram. You have to choose based on what your processor and motherboard can handle. For a p4 system I'd go rambus for anything but the latest of models (ie 3ghz) as the chipsets for p4 + ddr aren't very good. For AMD as far as I know your only option is DDR.

I've read that the RMABUS is the faster RAM.
I have 512Mo of RAMBUS PC800 in my PIV and Photoshop is pretty quick

ever since the price drop.. i find it an INSULT to even LOOK at a machine with anything less than a gig O ram...
even my pismo has a gigger.

RAMBUS is twice as expensive and is a privately held proprietary system.
DDR is a standard.
Doesn't matter anyway
we're gonna be moving to HyperTransport soon enough.

i would have to say that DDR is the best because their isnt heat issues like their is with RDRAM.
Though, DDR might run a bit more slow....

>> Heat issues ? I have RAMBUS in my PC and i never had any problems with heat ....

it runs 2-3X hotter than on DDR and plus...with the new PC1600 their are probably going to be major issues with that.

rambus is still faster (next gen DDR will be faster)
rambus = too expensive
