It's always better to rip off someting that is well designed than to create something ugly. I'd rather see 50 copies of the ipod than what all the others look like now.
That's not to say that I want a complete rip off, but man, can't the damn PC designers rip a little off from apple!?
I bought my lil sister an ipod for xmas, and yeah, she's using a PC. It works wonderfully and looks awesome.

BUT. the only reason u choose to shit on the pod is becuase you DONT own on..
and USB2. is not that good..
when u buy an iPod u also pay for speed.. TRASNFER SPEED.
so keep on hating on the pod.
and ill keep walking around with all my music and files in my pocket with firewire speed.

ahh ipod is the only mp3 player i would ever actually go near, the rest are just design tumors. But mp3's aint really my thing so I'll stick with vinyl/cd/md

scarabin ... fact is that Apple could market dog turds ... with a firewire port, cheap shiny paint (guaranteed to rub off after a month or two of normal "use" of the thing), etc. and the Apple faithful would pronounce it to be the one true apple doodie (i.e. the only dog doo worth having naturally) and eschew all others whether or not they were superior.
Apple is a cult.
