k...so i got it...am an idiot...i know...
but please help me.i've downloaded stinger from mcaffee to get rid of it...
but i can't access anything that's on my computer ... so i can't right click properties on 'my computer' or run stinger.exe because it says that "Windows cannot find 'd:stinger.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. etc etc."
or if i right click on my computer: "Windows cannot find rundle32.exe. Make sure you type the name corectly, etc etc
and i can't use the 'run' option to load anything cause of the same error...
anyone? please.

i just had this virus. it did the same to me - didn't let me open anything. but for me it did so because every time i tried to open something my mcaffe start screamin and alertin me about a possible virus intrusion and didn't let me continue. so i disabled my mcaffee and could follow the advice on mcaffee's page on how to eliminate the b*tch. everything's fine now.
if you arent' running mcaffe as a background service, then this won't help you, i'm afraid :(

My IT manager got this one this morning. Sent it to everyone on his list, All of our Clients. This is a very old virus, must be a new strand of some kind. So I had to clean all the machine today. Fun.

I got it too. Nortons licked it good and quick.

(all of my numpty friends opened the bloody screensaver and I got this puppy 12 times, three times a day, for four days).So a word of advice, leave MacAfees in the trash bin where it belongs and get Nortons. It had it quarentined as soon as I had the message.
Nortons may nab it as soon as you intsall.
