Can anyone shed some light on my question..
Is it possible to hook up an external monitor to an iBook??

yes but it can only mirror the built in display

I was planing on getting an ibook to do just that. But You need to spend money on an adaptor and you still end up with VGA. Im very happy with the new smaller G4 laptop, I know that will hookup to a fullsize.

actually the vga adapter comes with the ibook its the video adapter that you pay for which lets you hook up to a TV so you can play DVD's or whatever, though I haven't been able to get anything more than sound out of mine, not sure whats wrong there.
