i'm trying to fiind examples of the designs painted on the sides of fighter planes to signify the number of kills they had. Usually somthing with a cross through i think.
I've been looking for stuff for the last few days, but nothing yet...
any links/help
thanks!

Go to the book store or library and check of all the books on Military aircraft.
Also try

Jane’s covers pretty much anything military.

i get an average of 50-60 kills per game as sniper. (Team Fortress Classic - hunted map) but that's because it's not your average Quake run and gun type of game. There's a little more strategy involved.

thanks for the help. some nice plane logos, but not the number of kills designs... its like finding a needle in a haystack.
i've seen some before, i just can't remember where...
- mitsu0
they were just 4 vertical marks with a diagonal fifth marked across them. just a simple and common scoring method

hahaha
mitsu fell for it...
*read more then title next time please*
(or maybe I am just falling for your wit now...whatever..)

sorry, it's hard to show sarcastic humor through text. i know what the thread is about. and i also responded seriously as well.

Ones I have seen have been just rows of enemy insignia. Like a series of swastikas underneath the cockpit canopy signifying Luftwafte kills. A bomber might have rows of bombs to signify number of missions flown.

you´re right mitsu, can´t see your laughing face, no kills there for anyone.
Aces high!!!

It depends on who the enemy is.
In WW2 American fighter pilots used the red and white 'Rising Son' flag to represent each kill.
or live fushion41 said swaztikas for germans.
and I'm sure those guys would put little SUV's and cheese burgers on their planes to represent US kills.
