Hi all - I'm wantin' to buy myself an ipod but I'm not sure which one to get. I can afford a 10gb at the mo but should I keep savin' and wait to get a 20gb? I know the 10gb vers is slimmer and lighter than the 20gb - is that better? Are all you guys easily filling yours 20gb up? Think the 10gb is enough space or not enough? Should I just get the cheaper one or is it worth forking out more dosh?
Cheers for any advice!

10gig...its the thinnest out of the three also

Buy yourself the version that can accommodate all the music you have and then some room for future music
In my case I have 12GB of mp3 so I'm gonna go for the 20GB version
I think they are coming out with a new one soon but I hear no mention of a radio - am I the only one who misses having a radio ?
Also how do people find the battery life and can you buy replacement batteries ?

Definitely save up for the 20g. It's only marginally thicker than the 10... and since it doubles as a firewire hard drve, you know you'll want as much space as possible for file transfer on top of your music collection.

cheers chaps! :-) Ugh but more rumors of a new ipod?? I'd been holdin' back incase Apple released a new version at the Expo yesterday! Think its likely?

i would go for the 20 - i have almost 20GB of music already - and thats not half of what i want . i still even have a load of albums on minidisc that arent even mp3d
a 20GB for sure if you cant wait

i waited for the 20 and would recommend the same to anyone. John lewis in the uk will match any price so you can get a good deal. ive only had mine since chrimbo and i already use the firewire drive daily, its tiny as anything and just awesome. just need a decent case now.

we should all have a london ipod get-together and swap our mp3 "experiences"

i have the 10gb... 1800 songs and plenty of room for transporting large files between work and home.
but for an extra $100 the 20gb ensures a lot more breathing room.
as for waiting for the new one... you can always turn around 6 months later and sell it on ebay and upgrade to the new one the rumors are so anxious about. you're likely to lose $50-100 on the sale. that's $10-$20 a month for the use of the iPod now. it's worth it.

Sound advice! Ta! ;-) Yeah cool. Thinkin' the 20gig could be the one then - and guess I could sell it later on ebay if I needed to.
Hey snowtrooper, what's that "digital" pixel font used on yer website? Nice.

i believe it it Xpaider Gothic

They should make the iPod's have removable harddrives, so you can get the thin 10 gig one and just keep filling them up and getting more.

Found the xpaider font. Thanx. :-)

I got the 10 gig one in november - i only have about 5gigs of muzak at the mo.
It's thinner and lighter but only marginally... i couldn't justify the price of the 20 gig one though - I thought the 10 gig one was luxurious already.
Remember that 10 gigs is a lot of tunes to get bored of before you'd want to change them if you had more! I'd go for 10 again...

I agree it does feel abit luxurious spending so much money on something like that. That was another of my concerns. Guilt. But I'm thinking I could and would use it for transferring files between work and home too.
