leaving DESIGN for LAW ENFORCEMENT

I got laid off about a year and a half ago. Had to wait tables to pay my bills, and I hated it.
Then I got some clients and it started out good - but now people arent paying me. I will be 29 this year, and I am tired of struggling in this career. Damn sick of it actually.
So I am looking into some other forms of employment more gainful than kinkos. Anyone else feel the same?

Kote, your work is really good. It's ashame you are giving up..
I feel like that almost everyday. I hate that as a designer, I have to work so much more than most of my non designer friends and yet get paid so much less. Even the ones with way less experience.
I too have thought about leaving this industry, but don't know what I can do.
