just rented that movie. it was a great movie till the end, then it sucked ass. water was it's weakness? they why the hell would it walk around at night in a corn field where evening due would be all over the stalks of corn? the movie was such a disappointment at the end. it freaked my shit out till you actually saw the sadly put together cgi version of it!
anyone thought the same thing?

yep, that part freaked me out. very well done. i was hoping they would go more indepth on the whole 'alien invasion' but they didn't.
i'm still confused about the water? sixth sence rocked, unbreakible was okay, and signs was great till the end. all well

If you like that sort of conspiracy themed film, you'll like the look of this:

If you believe it was really only about "aliens". You have to look at the entire movie, who each person, what happened, etc to realize this wasn't about aliens; those are just a metaphor ... fear, doubt, purpose (I wrote an short essay on it). But, I was slightly annoyed that they had to go and show the aliens (my guess is that that was a post-production add on by the execs - doesn't seem M Knight's style; he a more subtle director) - it's so much more intense not to see anything (like the basement scenes). But it's only on the surface about "aliens".

yeah, i know. it was a look at how a man loses his faith and regains it, and how it effects each person in that house. kinda a hitchcock version of war of the worlds, but i guess the concept was great. just how it flowed to the final end scene with how the evil (alien) was constructed and it's defeat. also M Knights camio was a bit odd? kinda as if he new how to defeat the creature without really giving it away. (but was nice to see how he was the cause of this mans (gibsons) faith downfall)

it was about "SIGNS". title says it all. signs in life we recieve, and how we interpret them.
as for the water thing, what i thought was corny, was why the hell come to earth if you scared of water?

HA......'corny'.......get it?......HA!!!!

I had a similar opinion as the masses. I thought it was a good movie, had a chilling suspence factor, but I thought they could have concluded better. I was curious when I seen this in the theatre if they'd have a different ending available on the DVD. Any luck with that?

Yup, it seemed believable until you actually saw the alien standing there. Up until that point it all could have been in his head, which would have been great. It would have been better that he just persevered through his uncertainty and fear and they just mysteriuosly went away, leaving it to be a 'could have actually happened' type of thing. But hollywood screws it up yet again. The acting was great, too. A shame.

Nothings perfect......I enjoyed the shit outta the movie...twice!
Great suspense, good acting...avarage cgi...
Alotta people were expecting some grand "Independance Day" kinda, stuff but ya missed the whole point...it deals with a catastrophy from the point of view of a SINGLE family, not the army or the whole world...one isolated family...The scene with the coal chute scared the shit outta me
Definetly an owner!

Go rent "War of the Worlds," or better yet, read the book.

SIGNS = undoubtedly one of the better movies of 2002.

biggest letdown of the year.
what an awful film.
i reviewed it on my site here:

No offense Hydroseven, but couldn't you just post that you didn't liked the end? Why spoil the moment for some of us? You're acting like those kids that went to see the movie twice, and in the teather they're like talking ahead of the movie.
Thanks for your annoyance!

You guys are acting like ruining the ending of Signs is one of the great disappointments in life, like death or taxes. M. Night is a failed indie / personal filmmaker who has cynically and crassly managed to find success with hackneyed, predicatble faux-spielbergian dogfood. Signs was ludicrous. It's a religious tract masquerading as a portentous B-movie masquerading as a sci-fi blockbuster. This is the only guy in history that, after the success of one film started putting his name above the title.

am i supposed to take this seriously? i think you "cynically and crassly managed" to put about 50 SAT vocabulary words in one sentence. but im still not impressed.

well, now i don't feel like the only soul on earth that didn't like the 6th sense.

I liked this movie. But I wouldn't sit here and try to argue the plausibility of the plot. The artificiality of the invaders is obviously intentional.

Rondo is a joke! hahahaha.
