I have high speed internet installed on my MAC and my roommate just bought a PC (with one Gig of ram, 3d max here I come :)

Anyways, I'm trying to setup high speed on the windows xp and can't quite seem to get it to go.

I lost the CD that came with internet package and I thought it would be as simple as finding the ip adress on my mac and then copying the same ip adress into XP.

Unfortunately the ip adresse is not displayed in my system preferences and in all honesty I have no fucking idea what I'm doing.

IF anybody could help I will be your whore forever.

first off, you will need a router to handle the whole multiple computer thing.

once you do that, then you can dish out static ips to the two computers because the point of contact for the modem is the router.

do you have a router or do you just link directly into the broadband modem?

Or, if you are just going to switch out machines, then you can always call your provider and get the IP again.
