I have th ecomplete exact opposite experience with Apple. I Order a G4 and and it took a few weeks longer than expected. I complained to my local Apple rep and he gave FOR FREE for my troubles: MS Office & Final Cut Pro.
I know Apple isn't prefect but they consitantly win the #1 slot for customer satisfaction here in the States.
Sorry, you're experience was bad. Don't give up on Apple, MS needs them as a competitor.
