I just reinstalled my ipod software and now when I connect the ipod it shows up on the desktop, opens itunes... then disapears
any ideas how to get it back on the desktop so it stays there

Its not when your in itunes that youve got it setup differently? when you click the ipod button in itunes in bottom right the settings come up. i have mine on manual upload and enable firewire drive. so it appears in itunes and on the desktop.
