Enter the sixth edition of filter9™.
The idea behind the name filter9™ is to symbolize the commodification of graphic design for the masses through the use of pre-made artwork/templates, graphic products, clip art, plug-ins and filters (used in popular graphic programs like Photoshop). Hence the name filter9™, meant to describe a generic filter used by anyone to create graphic design without the aid of skill or talent. Design has soul, emotion in addition to creativity, skill and talent. It cannot be commodified.
The idea behind the site is to serve as a vehicle for my personal creative expression. Being a professional graphic designer is a blessing, but often the lines between personal and professional expression get blurred thus forging a desire to define the two through a specific channel. filter9™ is that channel.
