Could anyone suggest a DSL provider in the Atlanta or Southeast regional area that offers consistent service at an affordable price?
I want to leave modem land now. I am not having fun anymore.
thanks,

Ya. I just checked the BellSouth site. Seems they have a pretty decent deal running with the first 3 mos. for $19.95. $49.95 after that. I guess I was just hoping that there was some hidden company out there who was offering insanely cheap deals. Ha. Wishful thinking I guess.

You could try Earthlink but don't know if that is any better. For cable we have ComCast here in Tennessee and i've heard mixed things about service...if you use BellSouth I think they'll give you the modem in that deal.

i use comcast cable here (mississippi/alabama) but the service is not so good.
it will disconnect for an hour at a time randomly. leaving me to twiddle my thumbs and scratch my head. i like a good head scratching. especially when it gets stubbly. =)

BellSouth looks pretty good. Of course I have AT&T Broadband for cable tv. Wonder if they would cut me a package deal for having tv and internet with them. Although I heard that cable modems suffer from more users being online? Sharing the same info pipe?

yup. a designer friend has comcast cable and along with the issues Bio spoke of, his connection speed slows down alot at certain times of day (like at 6pm). DSL!

well, if you dont have a problem with theft, then the following is interesting info.
if you get cable a modem and tell comcast you dont need tv, then they will charge you more for the cable than they normally would BUT at present, they are unable to stop your tv from working on cable, so you can just plug right in and watch it.
i didnt want to pay for tv cuz i really never watch it (still dont) but i tried it out and for some reason i even have HBO. odd. but anyway... just some info.
