Here's the brief:
By changing one componet* in a known sign/symbol (can also be trademark), change it's meaning.*componet: color, size, form, direction etc.

I thought that's what int'l design communities are all for.
I'm afraid my idea won't be clear enough: rotating nike's swoosh 180 deg. Noone saw a sad mouth like i expected. Did some of you ever had a similiar brief?

I think that idea is fine. Just do your flip & add some eyes... If you can alter it as you please, it should work fine.

Oh & since you can only change one component, you may want to extend a part of the logo to create the face/eyes. Good luck.

thanx Jenerra, but didn't quite understand what you ment by "extend a part of the logo to create the face/eyes." Did you mean streaching it or detaching a part? I think this will be a second manipulation.

Yeah, it may be a 2nd manipulation. I just think that in order to see the sad face, you would need some eyes...
Ask the professor, if anything... I would think you'd be able to consult him or her.

man, those lame graphic design classes assignments...
i wouldn't do nike. by using their logo you are being more lame then nike themselves. use something less expected.

train your mind to think up these ideas first, come to others aid for help with ideas.. not to come up with ideas...

You're right. But don't think i came here for an absolut idea. I already have some ideas but i don't find them too great, also don't think i don't keep thinking about ideas all day and night.
I came here with it cause i think it's a good assignment and wanted to hear reations, if people ever got it. I'm really interesting to hear about other assignments.

flip the mcdonalds arches 180 and print em on a tight fitting girlie top such that the arches accentuate the feminine fat.

shatter a swastika and be done with it. don't forget to flower it up with the "i felt this sybolizes how we as a people have envolved." blah blah blah blah blah...then once they all fall asleep sneak out of the class to talk to that cute girl that is always in the photo lab.

if you want to do a face use the addidas logo. take one of the three lines and place it horizontal under the other two. there is your face just like this.
