I'm trying to make a DVD of some old family movies for a late X-mas present, but I'm pretty new to video editing in Final Cut. Any help I can get would be great.

    1. Is there an easy way to select all the clips either before or after the playhead in the timeline?

    2. Is there a way to export a movie with markers from FCP so that DVD Studio Pro will recognize those markers or do you have to export individual movies to make differect scenes on a DVD?

    3. Is there a way to space out clips evenly over time. Sort of like a temporal version of Illustrator's align palette?

    4. On occasion I get footage that has strange artifacts and the audio pops a little. Is there an audio filter suited to getting rid of these high pitched pops.

    5. Is there an audio filter well suited to getting rid of the hum my old DV camera makes while recording? It shows up on the sound track.

    6. Last one. I'm trying to hook up an old TV to the computer to view my video. I have a firewire camera plugged in and the TV plugged into the camera. The camera plays the video Ok, but nothing plays on the TV. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance guys!

    1. Use the marquee tool and drag over all the clips.

    2. when you use the mpeg2 export function that came with dvdpro, it will ask you if you want to export the markers as dvdstudio markers.

    3. not an automated function. just do it by hand. easier.

    4. there should be some sort of audio filter that might get rid of that. maybe the hum reducer turned to a higher frquency.

    5. the hum reducing filter.

    6. that setup should work on the tv....what kind of camera is it?

    1. Is there a way to select other than the marquee? This can get a little tiresome with long sequences with multiple tracks.

    2. I thought so but I can't seem to find the export with DVDSP markers option when I export to MPEG2. I see it under th eexport to FCP Movie ooption but not under the Quicktime settings.

    6. I have a JVC GR-DVL500U camcorder. When I play from the Camcorder it appears on the tv. And when I play form FCP it appears on the camera but not the TV. It's pretty strange.

-the marquee is the best way to do it. more accurate.

-i would check the dvdstudio maual for creating markers in FCP. I did it a while back and i guess i forgot.
