political threads, it's ridiculous. This is a design site, all this fighting and shit is so pointless!

at one time, i removed all political threads. after a while, two things became evident:
1) they will never stop. many designers fancy themselves political activists regardless of the fact that many of them do it from their armchair.
2) when engaged in any serious discussion on the topic, many of the people posting reveal themselves as ignorant, and everyone has a good laugh.
so in either case, i get to laugh at people. so i don't see a problem.

If you're not going to talk about politics here, then where are you going to talk about it.
Politics is something no one can escape because it involves and affects every aspect of our lives.
To me the word 'politics' has become as dogmatic as 'religion'. Plenty of believers, believing what they are fed.
On another note, I'm not a big fan of Bush, but the US has not attacked anyone yet. Read Sun Tzu's Art of War. Could put some of whats happening into perspective.

i think politics and social/political threads are definitely one of the things i find interesting on this board...the other being of course design, and help for my design related questions...
the point of the political threads for me is to not only express my views, but to find out how others feel, and possibly to learn a little something..
plus, i get a kick out if it when some fools resort to name calling and talking trash..
vena's right...threads like that really do make the morons stick out like sore thumbs...anyhow, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU!!!
and to piper, kogio, biancab, turtle and the rest of the toronto crew, i look forward to january and our second meeting (either at betty's again, or the rhino on queen west)
