masking w/ motion guide

    probaly a stupid question, but im just not figuring it out. i am trying to create a mask that has a motion guide to it. what i am trying to accomplish is a pen writing out a couple of words. anyone else know a better way to do this than using mask layers? the font for the words is edwardian script. i appreciate any help you could give me.
