don't know, haven't seen it! but first part was great. some people said the second one is not good as the frist one.

Andy Serkis rules!

Oh the movie's incredible too! Better than the first indeed.

saw it two times already. great. better than the first i think. both great films. gollum is so cool.
- 8dot30
theres an awfull lot of comic relief.

they make fun of the dward alot.
but the compositing was much better.

i think it's hard to compare the two movies..... since they're so much different from each other. the cg, and just MAGNITUDE in the second is so crazy. i couldn't believe some of those scenes!!!! INTENSE!
and the scene where smiegle or whateva is talking to himself is CRAZINESS!!!
but i think story-wise definitely the first is better. to be expected in the second book i think. since the war is just developing. both are incredible incredible though.

Probably the best compositing and CG visual effects I've ever seen. But the film itself is a 3 hours long shit.

what does LOTR stand for?
- jking760
saw the 4am show, that probably wasn't the best idea, since well, it's a 3 hour movie and i hadn't slept in maybe 2 days..
good flick though

i haven't read the whole thread, but i think that they should've used an actor for Gollum. It's just not good enough yet (CG) to cast a main character (ie, dialogue etc.) as a CG character.
I understand, IF they did get an actor, the guy'd be messed up physically, but they could have done something better. Granted, the CG was incredible, it just didn't sell me. that's my opinion.
i still think the original Yoda played as a puppet was better and more real than the CG versions.

i agree, CG still dates v.quickly and in a few years it will stand out a lot.
I don't think it was anywhere as good as the first. The beginning was like a recap on last weeks episode & was badly done, and the whole thing was really dumbed down for the kids.
It became a bit boring with the 'love things with strider, the efl & thsats other bit of fluff. It could of beed a lot better.

Does the Requiem For A Dream track feature in the movie much, the track thats on the trailer

jking76, actually Gollum is all animated by a real actor named Andy Serkis, so it cannot move better than that ... this is all the real movments of a real person ... THIS IS ALL MOCAP (motion capture).
Wanna see a video of Serkis moving in his MOCAP suit ?

You'll understand.
Anyways, everyone have his own taste and are free to like or dislike whatever they want.
For my part, Felloship and Two Towers are just exellent, I couldnt expect better than that.

Like the Matrix, you have to see it for yourself.

i thought it was amazing, the battle at helms deep was incredible - the sheer mass of numbers (10000 + guys on screen at the one time) was unbeleivable.
Gollum was very well done, but i do agree that the puppet yoda in star wars was much better than the pretty crap CG yoda.
legolas kicks all ass!!!
flashlor out

the two towers was fucking stupid.
they took a great novel and dumbed it down so it's marketable.
gimli did NOT need to be turned into a gary coleman disney fucking minority sidekick comedy relief, and legolas DID NOT need to be turned into a fucking x-games-playing backstreet boy.
what happened to paying respect to great novels with great movies?
these three movies are not lord of the rings. they are nothing but a marketed product BASED ON the lord of the rings.
i'm disappointed by that.
