have the line follow the mouse, constrain y property.
then with the x as your variable to keep tabs on, set up code to check where its at. so if it is in between this area of x's possible movement.. make this picture appear over this.. you could layer them if you wanted.
if x is (first area) lower alpha of this or that.. load this or that picture. etc..
hope that is a starting point.

I'm writing the code for you..
Listen so far I made that the script takes the number of photos which you will enter generate the slide show and allow it to scroll....everything is dynamic, the only thing you need to do is to define the number of photos, change the master clip size to fit your design and you name images img0.jpg img1.jpg, img2.jpg and so on...the script does the rest.I have to take care of something downtown but I'll be back in about 2 hours...so you can expect it tonight...
oh btw...if you find a solution, it's ok just post it...

I am working on one...but it doesn't auto-detect the number of pics.....alpha-sliding will work tho...maybe we can blend the 2 of them...
I will post my testversion later...

(avoiding flash when possible...but the galleries need to be smooth...so there..)

hmm i just did something similar to this I think. Kinda hard to picture exactly what you want. Im a slow coder but efficient. Let me know if you are not getting anywhere.
