MAC printer problems

please someone help, just got an epson 1280 to go with my OS X ibook and it doesn't work.
It'll install the driver software, but then after a restart the mac still wont recognize the printer.
Any ideas?

No direct help, but a friend of mine's girlfriend had an imac and it always had various hardware issues.

I think the SP1280 drivers are installed with OSX if you tick the appropriate box..
Does it not show up in the Print Center when the printer is connected? What is the error, or where isn't it showing up?

no, it doesn't show up in the Print Center list. So I clicked ADD, and the 1280 shows up in the USB list there....but it says the driver is not installed after I've already installed it numerous times.

where did you "install" it?
