Pathetic Co-Worker

Howdy,
I will keep this as short as possible. But I was seeking some constructive advice.
A copywriter and I have not seen eye to eye on a lot of issues lately. As of late, he has found it convenient to crack jokes (in front of superiors) about my work ethic and habits. Now my boss and I are square so I really have no worries. But in this day and age of people getting shit canned for lack of performance, I don't really dig on being punked out like that. And you can call me paranoid but I think his intent goes beyond the joke realm. I honestly believe he wants to inflict damage on my reputation in the workplace.
I have confronted him about his behavior and warned that if he felt the need to do it again, higher ups were going to be brought into the fray. Not suprisingly, he went off on me. Probably because I actually called him on it. He treats alot of people the same way.
So. Since then I have made it a point to avoid him. Good idea. But when we do interact he takes every opportunity to throw a snide comment at me. He even brought my mom into one of his shots. I thought I left high school.
By now you can see where this is going. I have told myself that I would not stoop to his level. And I won't. But it comes to a point where something has got to give. He has not made any work related jokes as of late. So I think he did get that message.
I honestly think I am dealing with one of the most unhappy, jealous (and god knows why he is jealous of me) and backstabbing people I have ever met.
Ignore him? Report him? Kick his ass? :-)
What would you do in my situation?
thanks in advance,
bB

if you lose your job you can assault him outside of it, it's not like you'll lose your job over it. call in to work someday when you're off and he's there asking for him so he can help with an illegal activity. (speculation is abitch) if you need him gone now call the SRS with a false claim they're like old good guys shoot first ask questions later. just suggestions. they work though.

Kick His Ass Seabass!!
(someone had to say it)

Like you said, dont stoop to his level. treat him with contempt if his comments resurface, something like 'dont you get bored with your pathetic repertoire of infantile comments?' followed by ignoring any retort outta do it.
I love using the higher than thou attitude with chumps, works every time.

that someone is usually me, but you beat me to it fair and square.
- clone0
seriously beat him you'll feel better and see it in your work. whoever said violence is bad, must not have had a physical outlet for anger.

good responses to his:
- i'd respond to that comment but i don't want to come down to your level.
- didn't we graduate from high school... well... at least I did.
- from that last comment it is obvious that you have neither that wit, nor intelligence for me to even justify a comment, so i'm going to save you some embarrasement and walk away.
- ividn mmdfaly ud dsa;...
him: 'what?'
- imagine that... deaf and dumb... now i see why you get all the ladies.- 'EAT FIST MUTHERFUKER 'KAPOW'
works everytime.

I have it! next time he fucks up just lean close like your going to say something to him, but just as you approach back right off holding your nose and "uggh, have you been dining on dog poo again"
perfect!
- clone0
smart asses talk shit until they figure out it's a bad idea. a good way to make them stop is by making them hold their teeth and nose in place through the streams of dripping blood. you really think he'll keep saying shit if he's too afraid to walk by you ? me neither
- mitsu0
i guess if you live in a country where it's NOT considered assult to beat the shit out of someone, then go for it.
but here in the states, it's not as simple as releasing Gods wrath with your paradoxal kung-fu grip.

I guess clone is still protected by the law as he's a minor.

stoop to his level
- Buckyball20
thanks all.
As much as clone is playing up the violence angle, it would be nice in a lawless society to break this F*UCKER in two. But I don't think that would do well for my career or my life.
In the meantime, everytime I see him in the halls, I smile at him. Just to f*ck with him. Keep him guessing. If his intent is to play head games, I will let him borrow half of my brain and we'll start even.

Seems like you're a bit of a pussy who sniffs the boss' ass anyways. I hope the co-worker kicks your ass, little man. You seem little, like moby.

clone isn't a minor we don't have gold or coal or anything like that here for me to do. you make me raff with your laws and young'n statements have you never sped, drank and drove (just a little) maybe, illicit substance abuse, anything. i know i have at least one if not more of those on my rap sheet. geez you guys act like i was killing someone. but i would kick a shittalkers ass if he went too far. it's all smiles until i freak out

This sounds like it calls for a PISS PLATE:
Piss on a plate and freeze it. In the middle of the night slip the frozen disc of piss under his door. By morning it will have thawed and seeped into his carpet. His place will wreak of urine and he'll have no idea why.

Don't worry, Brad
I sent email to Jeff (the chairman) about your co-worker. so he should check out this thread very soon. I am sure Jeff will punish the pathetic copywriter.
