since illustrator 9, something has been bothering me.
if i shift+select objects indivdually, i can move them or alt+drag and duplicate them.
if i use the mouse to select multiple objects at once, i cannot move or duplicate them. they spring back into place.
for me, this is highly annoying--is there some way to avoid this besides constantly individually selecting each object?

its been a while ive converted to corel but i believe you can hold down ctrl before you release your mouse to cause the duplication after release. again this could be incorrect but check into your help and shortcut key guide in the help file i think you can solve your prob there

maybe i was unclear on the question... let me try again.
if i select using shift+select i can move multiple objects at once.
if i drag the mouse over multiple objects to select them i cannot move (or duplicate) them.
i'd like to be able to drag and select multiple objects and move them. can anyone tell me if this is possible? if not... maybe i'll be converting to corel too ;)
duplicate is alt by the way...

another thing--this does not occur all the time.
i can't figure out what it is--sometimes it seems like it's when i'm selecting across layers, or is it a when i select a combination of text and objects? i have no clue. the problem does not seem to be consistent to me.
like louno says... its is nearly the most annoying thing EVER.
